FAQs

Do you have questions and want to find out more?

Our FAQs section below may help to answer some of your questions. If you don't see the answer to your questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!

General Information

Do I need to be a member to join the sessions?

While you don't need to be a member to participate in our badminton sessions, we do offer a range of membership options that provide excellent value for regular players. Non-members are welcome to join on a pay-as-you-go basis, allowing you to experience our friendly atmosphere and high-quality sessions. However, our membership plans often include benefits such as discounted session fees, priority booking, and access to exclusive member events. If you plan on attending regularly, exploring our membership options is definitely worthwhile!

What skill levels are welcome at the sessions?

We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment where players of all skill levels are welcome! Whether you're picking up a racket for the first time, enjoy a casual social game, or are a seasoned competitive player, you'll find a place here. However, please note that some of our sessions may be tailored towards a more competitive standard to cater to those looking for a higher level of play. Don't worry, though – our general club nights are designed to accommodate everyone, and our coaching sessions are structured to help players progress at their own pace. Feel free to ask our session coordinator if you're unsure which session might be the best fit for you.

How long do the sessions last?

Our regular club nights are a full 3 hours of badminton enjoyment. For our dedicated training sessions on Tuesdays, you can expect a minimum of 2 hours focused on skill development, followed by game play to put your training into practice. On Thursdays, after the initial training portion, we dedicate approximately 2 hours to games, allowing everyone to get plenty of court time.

Do you offer coaching or training for beginners?

Yes, absolutely! We are committed to helping players of all levels improve their game, including those who are just starting out. Our training sessions held on both Tuesdays and Thursdays are designed to cater to a wide range of abilities, from complete beginners to more experienced players looking to refine their technique. Our experienced coaches provide guidance and instruction suitable for all levels, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to learn and develop their badminton skills in a supportive environment.

Fees + Membership

Is there a fee to attend a session?

While there is no obligation to become a member, each session does have a drop-in fee for non-members. However, we strongly encourage you to consider our membership options, as they offer significant savings for regular attendees. Becoming a member provides a more cost-effective way to enjoy our sessions and be part of our badminton community.

Do you offer membership plans, and what are the benefits?

Yes, we offer a range of membership plans designed to suit different playing frequencies and preferences. The benefits of becoming a member can include discounted session fees, priority booking for popular sessions, access to members-only events or workshops, and potentially even discounts on equipment or social gatherings. We believe our membership plans offer excellent value and help foster a stronger connection within our badminton community. Please visit our [Link to Membership Page or Contact Information] for detailed information on our current membership options and their associated benefits.

Equipment
+ Attire

Do I need to bring my own racket and shuttlecocks?

Yes, we ask that all players bring their own badminton racket to the sessions. However, we do provide high-quality shuttlecocks for use during gameplay. This ensures everyone is playing with consistent and appropriate shuttles.

Are rackets available for rent or loan?

Unfortunately, we don't currently offer racket rentals or a formal loan program. However, we understand that sometimes players may be looking to upgrade or try out new equipment. Our team would be happy to offer recommendations for new rackets based on your playing style and budget. Additionally, depending on availability, we may be able to arrange a brief trial of some of the rackets our members or coaches have. Please speak to the session coordinator if you have any equipment queries.

Are rackets available for rent or loan?

While not strictly mandatory for your first few sessions, if you are planning to play badminton regularly, we highly recommend investing in a pair of proper badminton shoes. These shoes are specifically designed with non-marking soles to protect the court surface and provide the necessary support and stability for the quick movements and lateral lunges involved in badminton. Wearing appropriate footwear can significantly reduce the risk of injury and enhance your performance on the court.

Game Format + Rules

Are there specific rules we need to follow during the sessions?

To ensure everyone gets a fair amount of playing time and enjoys the sessions, we have a primary rule in place: once you finish your game, please come off the court to allow the next group of players waiting to step on. This ensures a continuous flow of games and gives everyone an opportunity to play. Of course, standard badminton rules apply during gameplay, and we encourage a spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship at all times. If there are no other players waiting, feel free to continue playing!

Health + Safety

Do you have first aid available on-site?

Yes, the safety and well-being of our participants are important to us. We have designated first aid provisions available on-site, and trained individuals who can administer basic first aid if needed. Please inform a session coordinator immediately if you or another player requires first aid assistance.
